As we look forward to October and the celebration of Black History Month, we as a school, led by our Year 11 students have put together an assembly to celebrate the achievements of black individuals who have inspired them. The Y11 students have shared their assembly with the whole school community this week – and their contributions have been extremely powerful.

We recognise the importance of Black History Month in our diverse school, and fully embrace it by celebrating and acknowledging the accomplishment and impact of the black community within their specific academic and creative fields. Our departments have worked together to ensure that Black History Month is recognised and given praise throughout month of October in our subject areas.
Each of our departments will be making relevant links to Black History Month through their curriculum work, and we have a BHM themed art competition, deadline 14th October for entries to be submitted.
