Extra-Curricular

At TFA we are passionate about providing our students with a wide range of extra-curricular activities in order to help them to identify and develop their talents or simply to spend time doing something that they love. Our student body is diverse, and so is the range of clubs that we provide. All students can benefit from our free breakfast club in the morning, where they can pick up a healthy breakfast to set them up for the day. Students were clear that they wanted the option to take part in clubs at different times during the week, so some clubs run during student breaks within the school day, whereas others run after school. All clubs are free for all students.

Some of our clubs help students to develop an active lifestyle through a wide range of sports such as Football, Table Tennis, Netball and Basketball. Other clubs help our students to express their creativity, whether that be through Drama, Creative Writing, Music or through a range of clubs tailored to our students’ diverse artistic interests. Students can also feed their intellectual curiosity with clubs that provide opportunities to discuss and debate with each other, or can just take the time and space to complete homework in our supported study sessions. There really is something for everyone.

At TFA, we listen to our students. When students tell us that they would like a particular type of club, we try to make that happen. Our LGBTQ+ club which was launched in 2022 is an excellent example of this. Our clubs make a really positive contribution to our school ethos and to the health, wellbeing and development of our students. We are also excited to be launching the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, to widen our extracurricular provision even further.
