We were one of 6 London schools selected to participate in the Frankly Speaking Debate Competition held at the US Embassy. The competition was extremely tough, and we were immensely proud to have made it to the semi-final. Here is what one of our sixth form students had to say about the day:
“The topics covered were the dangers of social media; whether there should be an age maximum for political leaders; should voting be compulsory for all UK citizens; and whether it is justifiable for environmentalists to target historical art pieces. We conducted lots of research, prepared our resources and practised our arguments for the fateful day. It was such an amazing experience, and I learnt invaluable life skills.”
