A group of aspiring Year 10 students had the opportunity to attend the ‘Women of the World’ festival at the Southbank Centre’s Festival Hall. The event was to celebrate all women, girls, and non-binary people for International Women’s Day Students had the chance to listen to motivational talks, watch incredible performances and participate in interactive workshops during the day.
Empowering speeches were given by Verna Eggleston, who leads Bloomberg’s women’s economic development, the former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, actress and singer Beverly Knight who was joined by Helen Pankhurst, great grand daughter of Emmeline Pankhurst, to talk about bringing the suffragette movement to the stage. Our girls were inspired and will hold tight empowering words of wisdom.
