12 TFA Year 9 pupils were invited to attend a Meducators Workshop Day at Beal High School. The conference was aimed at pupils who are interested in studying Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Nursing or any other healthcare profession in the future. The workshop was delivered by doctors, dentists, nurses and senior medical students and the workshops offered our pupils a first-hand experience of some of the basic skills and fundamental concepts taught to healthcare students in the early years of university.
Our pupils rotated around multiple stations, each of which taught a different skill and provided them with a taster of what life is like within the healthcare profession. The interactive workshops encouraged our pupils to participate with the clinical skills and had a lot of fun in doing so . Mr Ali and Miss Frederick said the day provided our pupils with a unique experience which has inspired and sparked a desire to learn more about NHS careers. Diya Patel commented , “I really enjoyed the day and it has consolidated my dream of working in a neuroscience department in a hospital”.
