On Wednesday 15th June, 25 year 12 students took part in an employability skills workshop to help build their confidence, develop their communication skills and prepare them for future career success. This day was delivered by Greg Smith from the renowned charity ‘TalktheTalk’, who increase connections between employers and schools and focus on improving interview, CV writing and presentational skills; please read more at talkthetalkuk.org.
Leaving school to enter the world of work, further training or education is both an exciting and daunting time. The prospect of independence can often be overwhelming. The ‘Talk About The Future’ workshop supports students preparing to leave school or college by developing the competencies needed to take this next step with confidence and a positive mindset.
All participants received a certificate commendation, with the four students below receiving ‘Champion’ status for the fantastic progress made during the day:
