Year 7 students were learning about fingerprinting techniques used in forensic science. The students used fluorescent fingerprint powder to identify and locate latent prints. Once they were able to see their prints clearly, they then used tape to lift the print off a beaker and place it on a piece of paper for examination. Finally, they learnt how fingerprints are obtained at a police station using an ink pad and proceeded to create their own prints on paper.

The pupils really enjoined the session, and all tried extremely hard to obtain the perfect fingerprint!
