Following a successful recruitment process, Ms Misbah Mann has been appointed as the new Principal of The Forest Academy. She will commence her post officially from 1st September 2018.

Welcome to The Forest Academy

As the Principal of the Forest Academy since May 2010, it is an honour to serve our local community in ensuring all of our young people thrive at school. We are on a journey of rapid improvement as part of the BMAT Trust, and I am very fortunate to have such talented staff and students working with me; every person in the school is a key part of our community, starting with the youngest in Year 7, as they begin their seven year journey in school, right through to year 13, where they will embark on their journey into the world as young, confident adults.

Our school supports encourages and challenges every individual to be the very best that they can be and we are rightly ambitious for their aspirations and achievements. We want all to have the personal qualities, skills, experience and qualifications to be a success in the next stage of their life. Our fundamental belief is that each student only gets one chance of secondary education and we must make it the very best it can be. The school is a uniquely welcoming environment, of which all are proud.

Yours sincerely,
Will Thompson – Principal

Summer Term 2018

As we start another busy term, just a few thoughts and reminders to make it even more successful:
  • Attendance – can we get above 95%. Statistics show that students who have good attendance records achieve more highly.

  • Staff at The Forest Academy are always keen to meet with Parents and Carers to provide support and advice. To ensure we are available to meet with you, please make an appointment in advance so that staff you wish to see are aware you are coming to the school.

  • Resources and Homework – please remember to check the SMHW website link. If for any reason you have lost your log in details, please inform Reception.

  • The uniform shop is open on Wednesday 12:15 to 14:00 during term time.

  • If there is ever a need to alter the school day for any reason, this will be communicated via the school website.
