Year 10 Mock Examinations

The examinations start on Monday the 27th of March and continue until Thursday 30th March 2017.

On Friday 31st March 2017 at 9.00am students who have missed any papers should report to the Library for a catch up session.

Students have study leave for these examinations and should not be on the school site when they do not have examinations. More »

DFE Performance Tables for 2016

Last week the DFE performance tables for 2016 were published. Each school in the country is compared to the 54 most similar schools in terms of student performance at KS2. For TFA it would mean it is compared to other schools whose Year 11 in 2016 was around sig- 2.5 when they left primary school (the average points score for TFA was 25.1 while the national average was 27.6). Sixth Form Applications – Deadline 10th March 2017

We are now accepting applications for our sixth form for entry in September 2017, which are due by the 10th March 2017. Please note that there are separate application forms for internal students (our current Year 11) and external students (Year 11 students from other schools) – see below. More »

Non Uniform Day – Wear it Pink & Blue Day

Friday 21st October is ‘Wear it Pink & Blue’ Day to raise money for charity. Students can wear either Pink or Blue and donate £1, all proceeds will benefit Breast Cancer Now. More »

Year 8 HPV immunisations for girls

1st immunisation – Friday 7th October 2016
2nd immunisation – Friday 28th April 2017

Girls are reminded to wear short sleeved shirts, or a vest under their shirts on the day of immunisations and to eat breakfast.

Best ever A level results – Summer 2016

We are delighted to announce that our year 13 students have achieved the best ever A level results in the school’s history, with 73% of grades at A*-C and a 97% pass rate.

Year 12 have also performed fantastically well, recording the highest ever proportion of A*-C grades and pass rates at AS too. More »

GCSE and A Level/BTEC Results, Enrolment and Induction 2016

On Thursday 18th August 2016, AS, A Level and L3 BTEC results will be available from the main school from 8am. Enrolment for year 13 for The Forest Academy Sixth Form will also take place on this date.

NUT Strike Action – Tuesday 5th July 2016

We now know that the NUT has voted for strike action on Tuesday 5th July 2016.  This union is the largest at The Forest Academy.

This means that there will be insufficient staff to teach classes or provide adequate supervision throughout the day and consequently the school will be closed for Year 7 – 8 students.  Year 9, 10 and 12 students may come in to use the IT facilities (Room 56, 57 and 58 for Year 10, the library and LSU for Year 9 and the Sixth Form study zone, and Room 59 for Year 12) and seek the assistance of staff who are on site, but no formal lessons will take place.
