Year 9 Football Team – Redbridge Plate Final

The year 9 football team produced an excellent team performance to win the Redbridge plate 4-3 on penalties after the game finish all square at 4-4 after extra-time. The team started slowly and went 1-0 down but an excellent half volley from Thomas after a fantastic through ball from Kajus levelled the game. We then went 2-1 up after some good forward play from Francisco results in a neat and tidy finish. However, some sloppy defending led to the game being level at half time at 2-2. Straight after half time the team come out of the traps quickly went ahead after a sublime through from Kajus aain resulted in a smart and composed finished from Marley. Caterham again pulled a goal back to level up the game.

Chase came on for his debut with 20 minutes to go with an instant impact. He drove down the left hand side and threw a step over which resulted in him being fouled and awarded a penalty. Chase stepped up and rifled his penalty into the top left hand corner. However, Caterham kept working hard and were rewarded with another equaliser. The game then went to extra-time and penalties which the game being decided with the winning penalty scored by Francisco. Kajus was awarded man of the match after his outstanding 2 assists, leading by example and showed excellent quality and composure on the ball.
